On Tuesday, media and coaches flocked to Long Beach (Calif.) Poly to get a look at some of the top players in the state of California, and the country. Among the players in action was wide receiver Jason Robinson Jr., who is a player that Notre Dame has been high on for some time now.

After the event, Max Torres from Ducks Digest had a chance to interview Robinson. The talented pass catcher had a lot of positive things to say about his relationship with Notre Dame. According to Robinson, there are two major areas that the Irish program brings to the table.

"Really it is two things that stands out,” Robinson explained. "They don’t have anybody like me over there right now. They are more known for the bigger type players who can go up and get the ball. I know that I can go in there and make an impact immediately.

"Just being connected to Notre Dame, I have seen it and talked to people that went there,” Robinson continued. "It just opens so many doors that you wouldn’t be able to have anywhere else. That is two big things for going down there.”

Robinson continued to explain the impact that he could make on the field. It is his uniqueness that could potentially add something different to the current Notre Dame receiving core. That diversity is a massive selling point.

"They don’t have anyone like me,” he said. "That is what they told me, a quick guy that they can put in the slot and just get them the ball. They need someone that can make a quick shake and take a five yard route 60 yards. They want someone who can do that and I am sure that I can come in and do it.”

Throughout the staff’s travels, they have already made a stop by Long Beach Poly over the last few days. The relationships that Robinson has made with the Irish staff is something that he holds in high regard. That attention means a lot to him.

"I am close with Coach (Chansi) Stuckey and Chad Bowden,” Robinson said. “Chad isn’t really a coach but we have been tapped in together for a minute. Coach Stuckey is someone that I have really built a great relationship with.”

"Coach Stuckey is great,” Robinson added. "Just to know that he came out here to see me, that is great. These guys have lives. These guys have jobs and he took his time to do all that. Taking the time to come out and see me, that is something big. It is a little thing but it means a lot to me.”

That relationship extends far beyond a single trip out to see him. It is all the conversations that they have had over the last several months. Notre Dame has clearly made him feel like a priority.

"I am in touch with those guys all the time,” said Robinson. "It isn’t just like a weekly thing. Sometimes we will be talking day to day, we are texting, calling, just checking in with one another to see how we are doing. We always make sure we tap in and make sure each other is doing well.”

Dating back to last month, Robinson made the return trip back to South Bend for the first time since the Boston College game. Being on campus brings a feeling that is hard for the California star to explain. It is something unique, almost incalculable.

"It is something different, it is hard to explain,” Robinson said. "I went to the chapel up there and they take everything to a high level. They truly care about everyone and their players. Notre Dame is a big part of people’s lives. It changes a lot of people and you can tell by talking to the alumni that they all ride for Notre Dame. They love what they have going on over there.”

As of now, Robinson could be the last piece to locking down back to back fantastic wide receiver classes. The next few weeks will be big in determining the fit, and seeing if they can land the dynamic pass catcher.

Robinson is considered a four-star recruit by Rivals. They rank as the No. 41 wide receiver in the 2024 recruiting class and the No. 23 player in the state of California. The 5-10, 170-pound pass catcher is currently ranked as the No. 407 overall player and No. 58 wide receiver in the 2024 recruiting class on the 247Sports composite ranking.

The Long Beach Poly standout came off a strong season as a sophomore in which he racked up 1,007 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns on 63 receptions for the 11-4 squad. He also finished second on the team with 16 yards per reception, showcasing his big play ability.

As a junior, Robinson has another strong season. Although he was limited to eight games, the California standout hauled in 46 receptions for 671 yards and five touchdowns.
