QB C.J. Stroud Still Has 'More to Do' After Elite Showing at Ohio State Pro Day

Interviews and workouts ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft are wrapping up, but Stroud knows more work needs to be done before his name is called in Kansas City.

Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud has now finished his workouts at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis and Pro Day in Columbus, two of the largest hurdles a player needs to clear on their way to a career in the National Football League (NFL).

However, while these obstacles are out of the way, Stroud says there is still plenty of things to do before he flies out to the NFL Draft in Kansas City, Missouri to begin his professional journey.

So what's next for the NFL hopeful? Stroud now will meet on his own with several prospective teams, each of which has a shot at selecting him at Union Station on April 27.

These interviews will focus on Stroud's character and personality rather than his talents on the field and are the quarterback's main focus as the 35 days until the draft count down.

"I'm going to try to do really well on these private workouts and these interviews that I have coming up to the draft," Stroud said. "But what I think is special about this is that I can control what I can control on the field, and everybody--I don't need to make the decision right now."

The heavy favorite to take Stroud in the draft is the Carolina Panthers, after trading with the Chicago Bears for the first overall pick and reportedly sending a 'small army' to Columbus to watch Stroud toss the pigskin on Wednesday.

Just because Stroud is living out a life-long dream of his does not mean the draft process has been easy for him. The nonstop media coverage and constant appearances have taken a toll on the redshirt sophomore, but Stroud says the occasional lack of privacy has been worth it.

"It's not always easy to have everyone in your business all the time," Stroud said. "But at the end of the day, it's a blessing just because I've been dreaming about doing this my whole life."
