As Oklahoma Players Prepare for '23 NFL Draft, It's a Good Time to Look Ahead at '24

In this story:
Oklahoma will extend its nation-leading streak of producing at least four picks in the NFL Draft this weekend.
The Sooners have had four players picked for 15 consecutive years, and that number will climb to 15 as players like Anton Harrison, Wanya Morris, Eric Gray, Marvin Mims, Jalen Redmond, Brayden Willis, Chris Murray, Jeffery Johnson, Dashaun White, Michael Turk and C.J. Coldon prepare to hear their name called Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
But while this year’s draft unfolds, it’s a good time to project the future. How many Sooners will be drafted in 2024?
OU finished 6-7 last season in part because of a talent dropoff in Lincoln Riley’s last few recruiting classes. Does that mean a dropoff in NFL talent?
Not necessarily.
Ric Serritella’s NFL Draft Bible has already published its first 2024 Big Board Rankings, and the Sooners are well represented at multiple positions for next year’s draft.
Among draft-eligible players next year, center Andrew Raym ranks the highest, projecting as the No. 3 center in the draft.
Danny Stutsman projects as the No. 5 linebacker in next year’s field.
Billy Bowman is the No. 9 safety, while Key Lawrence is No. 19 at that position.
Tyler Guyton is Serritella’s No. 10-ranked offensive tackle, while Stanford transfer Walter Rouse ranks No. 16.
Austin Stogner is the No. 14 tight end in next year’s draft class, per the Draft Bible Big Board.
Former Sooners Caleb Williams (No. 1) and Spencer Rattler (No. 11) rank among the quarterbacks eligible for next year’s draft. So does former OU commit Cameron Rising of Utah (No. 12). Another former OU commit, Jace McClellan of Alabama, ranks No. 5 among running backs. Former Sooner Mario Williams (USC) is No. 12 among wide receivers, and former Sooner Jalin Conyers (Arizona State) is No. 18 among tight ends.
