Brent Venables Elite Camp: Skill Position Groups Shine on Day Three

In this story:
NORMAN — After a strong opening two days at the Brent Venables Football Camp, multiple talented skill position players shined in the third session, with one OU commit and two Oklahoma offers in attendance.
The morning session of day three was headlined by 2025 Rock Hill (TX) QB and Sooners pledge Kevin Sperry as well as 2025 Katy Jordan (TX) wideout Andrew Marsh. Marsh is a 4-star recruit, rated the sixth-best receiver in the nation according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.
The rising junior already boasts 30 offers; including Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and USC. During Thursday's one-on-one period, the 6-foot-1 pass catcher got open easily on almost every rep, showing the crowd why he is such a highly touted prospect.
Marsh made an easy target for Sperry all morning, who connected with the Warriors' star wideout down the field regularly. With Marsh traveling to Norman from the Houston area as an uncommitted player to work out in front of Emmett Jones and company, the Sooners' coaching staff has to feel good about where they stand with one of Texas' top wideouts in the 2025 class.
Fellow 2025 receiver Royal Capell of Cibolo Steele (TX) was extended an offer during the lunch period after dominating one-on-one drills in the morning session.

Capell used his incredible straight-line speed and lateral quickness to sprint by DBs, consistently getting separation down the field.
Oklahoma marks the 5-foot-11 Capell's ninth offer, joining Oregon, Baylor, Missouri and Houston, among others. After his stellar performance in the first session, Capell was seemingly taken aside for photos and did not return to camp.
After the June 8 session of camp ended, the Sooners' coaching staff extended an offer to 2024 All Saints Episcopal School (TX) receiver Dozie Ezukanma. Ezukanma is the younger brother of Miami Dolphins and former Texas Tech receiver Erik Ezukanma.
On Thursday, Dozie used his height and vertical ability to leap above defensive backs in one-on-one drills and snag passes out of the air. Currently a 3-star recruit, the TAPPS standout holds offers from TCU, Oregon, Miami and Texas A&M, among others.
Also in the 2025 class, Dane Jones of Ridge Point (TX), Ondraye Beasley of Muskogee (OK) and Blake Hogshooter of Bixby (OK) stood out at wide receiver as prospects to keep an eye on in the coming seasons. While none of the three have an offer from the Sooners yet, each player put themselves firmly on OU's radar with their performances in front the coaching staff on Thursday.
Classen School of Advanced Studies (OK) 2024 receiver Elijah Green and North Crowley (TX) 2024 receiver Julian Knox also had solid performances on day three of the Venables camp.
Mason James of Norman North and Antron Edmundson Jr. of DeSoto (TX) rounded out a talented group of pass-catchers on day three of the Venables camp. Both players are 2026 prospects who will surely garner more looks from the Oklahoma staff in the upcoming seasons.
Despite being a freshman, James showcased great speed and ball-tracking abilities, getting underneath multiple deep shots from Sperry. The young wideout won reps against older defenders in one-on-one drills in both the morning and afternoon sessions.
Edmundson displayed strong hands, making multiple contested catches through defenders. At one point, the DeSoto receiver made a spectacular one-handed grab while leaping in the air.
In addition to Sperry, Chandler (OK) 2024 QB Alec Jackson, Millwood (OK) 2026 signal-caller CJ Turnbull and Pinnacle (AZ) 2026 quarterback Dayton Raiola showed off impressive arm strength and accuracy in passing drills on Thursday. Raiola is the younger brother of 2024 5-star QB and Georgia commit Dylan Raiola.
While the Sooners' are in no place to offer a scholarship to any more QBs in the 2024 class, Jackson's skill level could potentially earn him a preferred walk-on spot on OU's roster.
On the other side of the ball, OU 2024 DB target Mykel Patterson-McDonald had a solid day battling against a talented group of wideouts. The 4-star safety from Westmoore was able to mirror multiple receivers who were giving many of the other defenders fits in one-on-ones.
Bailey Fletcher, a 2024 DB from Reagan (TX) High School in San Antonio, also had a good showing in one-on-one reps. The 6-foot-1 corner showed that he is not afraid to be physical with opposing wide receivers, which the OU defensive staff seemed to appreciate.
Finally, 2025 Sherman (TX) linebacker Kane Bowen notched an impressive day with his position group. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound rising junior looked very nimble on his feet for someone of his stature, moving around well in the heat.
