Elite Oklahoma DL Target Sets Commitment Date

Oklahoma fans won’t have to wait much longer for a major recruiting announcement.
David Stone, one of the nation’s most sought after defensive lineman, will announce his college commitment on Aug. 26.
Stone will be picking between Oklahoma, Florida, Miami, Michigan State, Oregon and Texas A&M, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Though he currently plays his high school ball at IMG Academy in Florida, Stone started his preps career at Del City High School.
Stone is a consensus 5-star recruit, and his rated the No. 10-overall player by both Rivals and 247Sports in the 2024 recruiting class, and On3 has Stone ranked No. 13 in the country.
The Sooners have been in pursuit of Stone as one of the cornerstones of Brent Venables’ 2024 class, and Oklahoma already has the verbal commitment of Stone’s IMG teammate in defensive lineman Jayden Jackson.
A frequent visitor to OU’s campus, landing Stone would roll Oklahoma’s recruiting momentum into the 2023 season where the Sooners are trying to follow up a high-profile 2023 recruiting class.
Currently, Oklahoma has 16 verbal commitments in the 2024 class, and the group is ranked as the No. 15 recruiting class in the nation by 247Sports.
