Former Oklahoma quarterback Davis Beville is returning home.

Beville committed to South Carolina after entering the transfer portal last month, he announced in a statement on X.

Rated a 4-star recruit by Rivals and a 3-star recruit by 247Sports out of Grenville, SC, Beville served the last two years as Dillon Gabriel’s backup for the Sooners.

He appeared in seven games the last two years, completing 15-of-30 passes for 102 yards at OU. Most notably, he was forced into action for Gabriel in 2022’s Red River Showdown after a head injury held Gabriel out of the contest.

Before arriving in Norman, Gabriel spent his first two years at Pittsburgh. He filled in admirably in the 2021 Peach Bowl, completing 14-of-18 passes for 149 yards and one interception in the 31-21 defeat to Michigan State.

2023-24 Oklahoma Player Tracker

Beville will play under former Oklahoma assistant Shane Beamer at South Carolina, though Beamer was long gone in Norman before Beville arrived.

Previously, Beamer added former OU quarterback Spencer Rattler and tight end Austin Stogner to play for the Gamecocks out of the transfer portal. This year South Carolina has already added former Sooner offensive tackle Aaryn Parks through the portal.

After redshirting previously in 2019, Beville will have one more year of eligibility at South Carolina.

Beville will be back in Norman on Oct. 19, when the Gamecocks visit the Sooners for a Southeastern Conference game at Owen Field.
