On Sept. 23, the show was broadcast from Cincinnati’s Nippert Stadium ahead of the Sooners’ victory over the Bearcats.
Fox will carry the broadcast of OU-KU, with kickoff at 11 a.m. at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium. It's the first time the Fox show has attended a KU game (last year KU hosted ESPN's "College GameDay").
The on-location studio show features host Rob Stone and analysts Matt Leinart, Mark Ingram, Brady Quinn and Urban Meyer as well as reporter Tom Rinaldi. The game broadcast will feature Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt and Jenny Taft. Meyer joined the show at the outset in 2019 and 2020, but was replaced by former Sooners head coach Bob Stoops in 2021. Stoops stepped aside after the 2021 season as Meyer returned to the lineup.
According to the show’s Wikipedia page, this will be the seventh time “Big Noon Kickoff” will originate from an Oklahoma game. That’s fourth among all schools behind Ohio State (17), Michigan (13) and Penn State (8).
OU is 5-1 in games attended by the “Big Noon Kickoff” crew, including the 2019 OU-Texas game (a 34-27 win), the 2021 OU-Nebraska game in Norman (a 23-16 win) the 2021 OU-Baylor game in Waco (a 27-14 loss), the 2021 OU-Iowa State game in Norman (a 28-21 win) and the 2022 OU-Nebraska game in Lincoln (a 49-14 win).
On Oct. 7, ESPN’s “College GameDay” originated from the Cotton Bowl in Dallas as OU took down No. 3-ranked Texas 34-30.
OU ranks fourth in both "GameDay" appearances (41) and wins (26).
