Oklahoma landed a commitment Friday from the NCAA Transfer Portal — a big one.

Da’Jon Terry, a transfer from Tennessee via Kansas announced his commitment to the Sooners after taking a campus visit earlier this week.

Terry is a graduate transfer and will be immediately eligible.

He entered the portal on May 26 after spending two years with Volunteers. That came after two seasons at KU.

Last year in Knoxville, Terry played in 13 games and logged two sacks and 3.5 tackles for loss.

Terry's two seasons at UT produced results as he played 506 total defensive snaps and posted a Pro Football Focus grade of 73.4 as a junior and 62.6 as a senior.

In his two seasons at Kansas, Terry played 33 snaps as a freshman and a career-high 261 as a sophomore, with PFF grades of 65.9 and 66.9, respectively.

He has 36 career tackles, w with 18 total quarterback pressures and four sacks.

Terry is considered an elite-caliber run stopper at 6-foot-4 and 321 pounds and should fit in well on the interior of Brent Venables’ defensive line.

At Meridian, MS, Terry was a 3-star recruit in the 2019 class. His only Power 5 offers out of high school were from Kansas and Colorado, but Terry drew interest from multiple high-level programs as a portal transfer.
