Rodgers (MN) 2024 edge rusher Wyatt Gilmore announced his top five schools on Sunday afternoon, narrowing his final options to Oklahoma, Oregon, Minnesota, Miami and Kansas State.

Gilmore is a 4-star recruit and the No. 1 prospect in Minnesota, according to 247Sports. Listed at 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, the rising senior already boasts a sturdy frame that OU coaches Brent Venables and Miguel Chavis are sure to be excited about, especially with Oklahoma's upcoming transition to the SEC.

The standout defender's impressive play has earned him over 15 offers prior to his final high school season. Allen Trieu of 247Sports compared Gilmore to Cincinnati Bengals edge Trey Hendrickson, describing the Rodgers, MN, native as a high-motor prospect with good athletic ability.

In addition to being a star defensive lineman, Gilmore also plays tight end and is a gifted basketball player. The multi-sport athlete visited Norman in April for the Sooners' spring game, posing for a photo with Chavis and Venables in OU's locker room.

"Oklahoma is one of the top college football teams in college football. There are so many things I love about Oklahoma including the SOUL Mission program," Gilmore told 247Sports following his announcement. "The most important thing to me in my life is my faith. Faith in God is something they really support there. I'm extremely close with coach Venables and coach Chavis and those guys are DUDES. I'm excited to see how they play next season because I think they have a crazy amount of potential."

After Oklahoma was beaten out by Oregon for fellow 4-star DL Xadavien Sims, gaining a commitment from Gilmore would soften the blow and serve as a huge victory on the recruiting trail for Chavis and Venables. Currently, the only defensive players in the Sooners' 2024 recruiting class are defensive backs Jaydan Hardy and Jeremiah Newcombe

With OU being in the hunt for multiple 5-star defensive linemen in the 2024 cycle, a pledge from Gilmore could be the start of what has the chance to be an historic defensive line class for Oklahoma.
