Oklahoma QB Commit Announces Transfer to Carl Albert

One of the Sooners’ most coveted targets announced on Monday that he will be playing the final two years of his high school career in OKC.

Former Rock Hill (TX) 2025 quarterback and OU commit Kevin Sperry will transfer to Carl Albert (OK) for his remaining two seasons of high school football.

The news was first reported by SoonerScoop, with Sperry confirming with AllSooners shortly after. In the 2022-23 season, the Blue Hawks went 3-7 compared to a 12-2 season record for the Titans, who won the state championship.

Sperry is a 4-star recruit, rated one of the top 15 signal callers in the nation according to the 247Sports composite rankings. The rising junior recently attended all five sessions of the Brent Venables Elite Camp, spanning two weeks.

"My family and I felt the spirit of the Lord leading us here — all we can do is obey and trust," Sperry told AllSooners. "Last week when in Oklahoma my brother (Rozzi Sperry) and I both told my parents that we wanted to stay. I already loved Oklahoma obviously but being able to come to camp made me realize how close I wanted to be to campus and wanting to finish my high school experience in Oklahoma."

Sperry played 7-on-7 this spring with C4 Sports Performance, a training center based in Mead, OK. The new OK Preps star committed to OU in early March, marking the Sooners’ first commitment in the 2025 class.

The talented passer holds over 20 offers, choosing the Sooners’ over Florida State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Oregon. Sperry’s father, Kevin, played linebacker at Washington State when he was in college.

Sperry will be joining fellow 2025 OU offers Marcus James, Trynae Washington and Trystan Haynes as well as Oklahoma 2024 running back target Xavier Robinson at Carl Albert. After winning the state championship a year ago, it appears that the Titans will once again be the team to beat in Oklahoma 5A football.

Sperry said he and his family chose Carl Albert for its “cultural, traditions, standard, and diversity.”

For the Sooners, their prized commit in the 2025 cycle is now even closer to his future home, allowing him to help recruit other prospects into his recruiting class and others.

Additionally, Sperry will now have easier access to Jeff Lebby and the OU coaching staff, which he said will allow him to watch more film and talk ball.

“It’s going to be great being close to campus so that I’m able to do things like that,” he said. “Also with recruiting and everything I’m just 20 minutes away from the facility so I can be there.”
