On Monday afternoon, 4-star linebacker Michael Boganowski announced his commitment date and his top four schools.

The versatile defender from Junction City, KS, will choose between Oklahoma, Kansas, Kansas State and Florida State on Thursday, Oct. 19. 

Boganowski holds nearly 15 offers, with schools like Tennessee, Michigan and Washington not making the cut for the talented athlete.

Boganowski is the son of former New Mexico State defensive lineman Mike Boganowski.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, Boganowski is the nation's No. 17 linebacker in the 2024 class, according to Rivals.

With his blend of size, speed and versatility, Boganowski seems like the perfect linebacker for a Brent Venables defense. If the Sooners' are able to land a commitment from the top player in Kansas, it would be a huge boost to the team's 2024 class, which currently consists of 23 scholarship athletes and a handful of talented walk-ons. 

Boganowski would join 4-star James Nesta as the only linebackers committed to OU in the upcoming recruiting cycle.

At the moment, it seems that Kansas State and Oklahoma are in the lead for Boganowski. Over the weekend, multiple national recruiting services put in predictions that the star linebacker will commit to the Sooners.

With Daniel Akinkunmi announcing his commitment on Oct. 12, Venables and company will have the chance to secure two more commitments prior to their next contest.

If the Sooners are able to round out their 2024 class with Boganowski and Akinkunmi, it would be a solid close to what is already a top 10 recruiting class.
