Oklahoma Tight End to Enter Transfer Portal

A third Sooner has announced his intention to enter the transfer portal this month.

Another Oklahoma player is headed for the transfer portal.

Tight end Jason Llewellyn announced he’ll be looking for a new team on Thursday.

“First and foremost, I want to thank God for blessing me with the ability to play football and for the opportunity to be part of The University of Oklahoma program for the last two years,” Llewellyn said in a statement on Twitter. “I want to thank my coaches, teammates, trainers, staff and Sooner Nation for all of your love and support. Y’all are amazing and I wish you nothing but the absolute best.”

Llewellyn will have three years of eligibility remaining at his transfer destination.

Ranked a 4-star prospect by Rivals and a 3-star recruit by 247Sports and On3, Llewellyn never made his way into OU’s passing offense.

He played in 10 games in 2022 as a true freshman, mostly on special teams, as Brayden Willis took a majority of the snaps in Jeff Lebby’s first year as offensive coordinator in Norman.

Then Llewellyn missed key time to develop in spring football due to an unlucky injury.

This year, Llewellyn found himself stuck behind Austin Stogner and Blake Smith on the depth chart.

Llewellyn is the third Sooner to announce his entrance into the transfer portal in November, joining defensive lineman Marcus Hicks and wide receiver D.J. Graham
