Sooners in the NFL 2023: Week 11

Check out how Oklahoma's NFL stars performed in midseason action.

Sunday wasn’t kind to the Sooners in the NFL in the win department, but the performances were still solid down the line.

Both Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray played solid overall football but couldn’t carry their teams to late wins against the 49ers and the Texans — two of the hottest teams in the NFL.

Mayfield finished the game with 246 yards, one touchdown and one interception on 29-of-45 passing. His interception hit off the hands of a receiver, and Tampa Bay was in the game late but couldn’t cut it to a one-score contest. With the loss, the Bucs are now 4-6, but Mayfield is quietly putting together a solid bounceback season. He’ll face a must-win game in Indianapolis next week.

Murray tried his best to keep the Cardinals in the game but couldn’t overcome CJ Stroud and Houston. Murray totaled 214 yards, one touchdown and one interception on 20-of-30 passing. Murray also added seven rushes for 51 yards and a touchdown on the ground. The Cardinals had a chance to win on the last drive of the game, getting all the way down to the Texans 27-yard line, but couldn’t find a way to score. Murray has looked fantastic in his return from injury, though.

It was a heartbreaking day for former Oklahoma tight end Mark Andrews, as he suffered an ankle injury that's likely to keep him out for the remainder of the season. He will finish his 2023 campaign with 45 catches for 544 yards and six touchdowns.

CeeDee Lamb found the end zone once again, continuing his stretch of dominance for the Cowboys. He's now at 1,013 yards and five touchdowns receiving on the season, averaging 101.3 yards per game.

Ogbo Okoronkwo had a big weekend, celebrating the birth of his child and helping the Browns win a big divisional game over the Steelers. He recorded a sack and four tackles for loss.
