Sooners in the NFL 2023: Week 14

Ceedee Lamb and Baker Mayfield led Oklahoma's NFL group in Week 14.

Outside of former Oklahoma star Baker Mayfield, it was a relatively quiet week for Sooners in the NFL. Kyler Murray and the Cardinals had a bye week and Jalen Hurts’ Philadelphia Eagles were handled by the Dallas Cowboys in dominating fashion.

Ceedee Lamb found the end zone once again, stretching his impressive touchdown streak to five games. He’s having a special season, leading the Cowboys to a 10-3 record. In the biggest game of the season against the Eagles, Lamb reeled in six catches for 71 yards and a touchdown. Dak Prescott clearly likes trying to find Lamb early and often, as he was targeted 10 times.

On the season, Lamb is now up to 96 catches for 1,253 yards and eight touchdowns, which is nearly career-records in every single category. There’s still four games left in the season.

Joining Lamb in the touchdown department, former Oklahoma running back Joe Mixon also scored on Sunday. With Joe Burrow out, and the defense completely keyed in on the running game, he rushed for 79 yards and a score on 21 carries. Mixon also brought in three catches for 46 yards in a 34-14 Bengals win.

Mixon now has 768 yards and seven touchdowns rushing on the season, and 327 yards and another score receiving. He is the third player in Bengals history to reach 6,000 career yards on the ground.
