Later in the day, OU also signed combo guard Dayton Forsythe out of nearby Dale High School,.
The 6-foot-9 Atak is a 4-star prospect, according to 247 Sports, and ranks as the No. 113 overall prospect in the nation.
At Haltom High School near Fort Worth, Atak averaged 22.5 points and 5.1 rebounds per game coming into his senior season.
Although he's long and lean down low, Atak specializes in the perimeter game and is a classic stretch 4. His 247 Sports profile says he has "a feathery touch from long range" and "is one of the best three-point shooters his class has to offer."
Atak plays AAU basketball with 3D Empire, a New Balance-sponsored travel team that participates in the PRO16 tournament circuit.
