Preparations for next weekend’s spring game continued, and the Sooners opened the first 35 minutes of practice to the media.

WATCH: Highlights from Practice No. 12

Here are observations from Ryan Chapman, Randall Sweet and Bryce McKinnis:

  • Wide receiver Jalil Farooq had a sizable cast on his left ankle, he was on a scooter. Freshman offensive lineman Daniel Akinkunmi was also on a scooter. He had a protective boot on his right leg.
  • Safety Billy Bowman resumed his role coaching the defensive backs. He was very vocal helping those guys along, but he still was in tennis shoes without his helmet.
  • Gavin Freeman was working with the punt returners after being held out of the past few practices that were opened up to the media.
  • Michael Tarquin played left tackle during the first two-minute drill scenario with Jake Taylor across from him at right tackle. Jacob Sexton played left guard, Joshua Bates played center and Febechi Nwaiwu played right guard. The Sooners were working on field goal situations with limited time on the clock.
  • Oklahoma defensive end Adepoju Adebawore flashed on a rep during the two-minute drill, pushing the pocket to force a quick throw.
  • Florida State transfer kicker Tyler Keltner took the first field goal in the two-minute drill, but both Keltner and Zach Schmit nailed their field goals. Schmit's kick during the situational period was a 54-yard kick.
  • Freshman Michael Hawkins took the snaps with OU's two's in the two-minute drill. He used his feet to avoid a sack on the first play, was flushed out of the pocket for an incompletion on the second play and had to throw the ball away before bringing the field goal unit onto the field.
  • Wide receiver Jayden Gibson made a nice catch with the first-team to set up Keltner's field goal attempt in the two-minute drill.
  • The lineup for the second-team offensive line during the two-minute drill was Logan Howland at left tackle, Heath Ozaeta at left guard, Ty Kubicek at center, Eugene Brooks at right guard and Spencer Brown at right tackle.
