Oklahoma National Signing Day Player Profile: David Stone

In this story:
Hometown: Del City, OK
Height: 6-4
Weight: 280
Position: DL
School: IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL)
Evaluation: Just like Brent Venables’ first few recruiting classes at OU, David Stone will continue to bring a high level of athleticism to the Sooners’ defensive line room. The IMG Academy (FL) standout who started his high school career at Del City High School (OK) is extremely powerful and has a great punch when attacking offensive lineman off of the snap. With great hand placement and strength, Stone is able to throw around would-be blockers with ease and get to ball carriers behind the line of scrimmage. Stone is also surprisingly fast for a 280-pound high school athlete and has even shown the ability to win off of the edge. His blend of strength, speed and power gives Stone the versatility to succeed in multiple roles along the defensive line in Norman.
