Evaluation: After some Oklahoma fans had begun to doubt DeMarco Murray’s ability to recruit, earning a commitment from the nation’s top tailback quickly eased many of those fears. A two-sport athlete who is also planning to play baseball at OU, Taylor Tatum is a versatile running back with great vision, power and speed. The Longview standout is able to break arm tackles from linebackers and defensive backs and can easily outrun defenders when he hits the open field. Tatum is also a great receiver, who can catch passes out of the backfield or even line up in the slot and beat defenses as a receiver. As a pass catcher, Tatum’s baseball background is evident, as he is very good at tracking the ball in the air.
