Seven 2025 Prospects Planning Visits to Oklahoma

With the 2024 class fully signed, the Sooners are turning their attention towards the upcoming recruiting cycle as seven high school juniors have made plans to visit Norman.

As the summer approaches, high school juniors across the country are making plans to take their final recruiting visits.

With just one season of high school football remaining, many of 2025's top prospects will be making and announcing their decisions in the coming months.

For programs like Oklahoma, it is important to get the top recruits in the upcoming class on campus prior to their commitment to ensure that the Sooners have a chance at landing these high profile targets.

As of Feb. 22, seven juniors are planning to visit Norman before the 2024 football season. Brent Venables and company already have 10 pledges in the 2025 cycle and will have the chance to add to what is already an impressive group.

On March 9, 4-star defensive lineman Trent Wilson is set to make the trek from Baltimore to Oklahoma.

Rated the No. 26 overall player and No. 4 defensive lineman in the country, according to On3, Wilson would be a massive addition to the Sooners' 2025 class.

With 3-star edge rusher Alexander Shieldnight and 3-star interior defensive lineman Ka'Mori Moore already on board, Wilson would add another game-wrecker to Oklahoma's defensive front.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 270 pounds, Wilson will visit Texas A&M and Ohio State later in March and Penn State in April.

Also on the defensive line, 4-star defensive lineman Isaiah Gibson will take an official visit to Oklahoma.

Hailing from Warner Robins, GA, Gibson is rated one of the top 85 prospects and top 10 edge rushers in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports.

At 6-foot-4 and 240 pounds, Gibson has the size and athletic ability to make an impact in the SEC and would be a good fit alongside the aforementioned defensive line pledges.

In addition to OU, Gibson will take official visits to Oregon, Clemson and Georgia.

On March 14, 3-star Elgin (OK) offensive lineman Antoni Ogumoro will visit Norman.

Listed at 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, Ogumoro is rated one of the top 10 players in the Sooner State, according to Rivals. The talented interior offensive lineman currently holds offers from Tennessee, Oklahoma State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Duke and others, but has yet to be offered by OU.

Under Venables, however, Oklahoma has been able to land some of the state's top players, even as preferred walk-ons. In 2022, former Heritage Hall (OK) standout Gavin Freeman joined the team as a PWO before earning a scholarship after his true freshman season.

In the 2024 recruiting class, the Sooners managed to land Heritage Hall athlete Andy Bass, Edmond Santa Fe (OK) defensive lineman Bergin Kysar, Norman (OK) defensive back Dax Noles, Bixby (OK) offensive lineman Evan McClure, Moore (OK) kicker Liam Evans and Casady (OK) defensive lineman Ace Hodges as preferred walk-ons, despite most of aforementioned prospects having offers to other FBS programs.

In addition to Oklahoma, Ogumoro will visit Kansas State, Oklahoma State, and Houston.

Staying in-state, 4-star Washington (OK) tight end Nate Roberts is also setting up a visit to OU, according to OUInsider's Parker Thune.

Roberts, who was previously committed to Notre Dame, is rated the No. 102 overall player and No. 3 tight end in the country according to 247Sports.

The 6-foot-4 playmaker visited Norman in late January and would add another versatile pass catcher to the Sooners' 2025 group that already includes a trio of 4-star wide receivers and one of the nation's top 15 quarterbacks.

With Roberts' size, athleticism and toughness, he would add another solid option at tight end for Joe Jon Finley and company behind Davon Mitchell.

Roberts' older brother, Jake Roberts, transferred from North Texas to OU over the offseason. Oklahoma, however, still has to battle for the junior tight end  prospect, as Roberts has a visit to Ohio State planned for April.

In the Natural State, 3-star Bauxite (AR) safety Marcus Wimberly is set to visit Norman on April 9.

Listed at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, Wimberly visited OU in February and has since been predicted to commit to Brandon Hall and company by both 247Sports and On3.

With zero defensive backs committed in the 2025 class thus far, earning a pledge from Wimberly would be a great start for Hall, Jay Valai and the rest of the Sooners' defensive staff.

Wimberly is slated to visit Arkansas, SMU, Memphis, Mississippi and Alabama prior to his trip to Oklahoma. Still, the Sooners' getting the final visit out of the group is a good sign for Venables and company.

On April 25, 5-star Lewisville (TX) offensive lineman Michael Fasusi is set to visit Norman.

Rated the No. 12 overall player and No. 3 offensive lineman in the 2025 class, Fasusi would be Bill Bedenbaugh's highest rated commitment since arriving at OU if the Sooners are able to land the coveted prospect.

With 3-star interior offensive lineman Owen Hollenbeck and 4-star tackle Ryan Fodje already committed to Oklahoma, Fasusi would help fortify what already has the potential to be an impressive group.

In a recent interview, Fasusi told AllSooners that OU was currently at the top of his list.

"OU would be, like, on the top of all the schools right now," Fasusi said in late January. "Just my relationship with Coach Bedenbaugh, what they got going on over there, the culture."

Still, the Sooners will have to battle a handful of other big-time programs in Fasusi's recruitment, as the 6-foot-5 tackle is also set to visit Missouri, LSU, Texas A&M, Texas, Oregon and Colorado this spring.

On June 21, 4-star Notre Dame Prep (AZ) wide receiver Cooper Perry is set to take an official visit in Norman.

Listed at 6-foot-2 and 190 pounds, Perry is rated the No. 221 overall player and No. 25 wide receiver in the 2025 recruiting class, according to 247Sports.

After visiting campus in early February, it appears Emmett Jones and company have built a good relationship with the 4-star prospect.

If the Sooners are able to land Perry, he would join 4-star wideouts Jaden Nickens, Gracen Harris and Elijah Thomas in OU's upcoming class.

With 3-star athlete Trynae Washington set to play a hybrid tight end/wide receiver role in college, Perry's addition would make an elite group of pass-catchers in the 2025 cycle for the Sooners.
