Oklahoma's Patty Gasso Lands Yet Another High School Star

Patty Gasso went back west, and she’s bringing back a champion.
Kai Minor, an outfielder, a speedster on the bases with power at the plate and a two-time travel ball national champion, announced her commitment to Gasso and Oklahoma on Friday via Twitter.
Like many of Gasso’s best players, Minor plays for the Orange County Batbusters. She plays high school ball for Orange Lutheran and is a member of the class of 2025.

She’s listed among the top 25 players in the nation, according to Perfect Game Softball.
“All Glory to God,” Minor wrote in her Twitter post. “With profound gratitude and humility, I am thrilled to announce my commitment to the University of Oklahoma to pursue my academic and softball dreams. Thank you Coach Gasso, Coach JT, Coach Rocha, and the entire OU Softball staff for this incredible opportunity.

“Thank you Coach Mike Stith, the OC Batbusters, the Orange Lutheran High School coaching staff, Mike Brown, and all of the coaches who have helped me become the young woman and softball player I am today. I am forever grateful to my parents and family for their wisdom, patience, guidance, and support. Thank you to my teammates and friends for your unwavering support and loyalty. This is just the beginning, and I am eager and excited to arrive in Norman and represent the Crimson and Cream!”
Minor is the latest prize for Gasso and her 2025 recruiting class.
Just in the past week and a half, OU has landed 2025 infielder Lexi McDaniel, 2025 right-handed pitcher/infielder Allyssa Parker, 2025 catcher Kendall Wells and 2025 pitcher Sophia Bordi.
