The unanimous first-team selection marked the first of her career, as Oklahoma has now posted at least one unanimous first-team player in each of the last three seasons under Baranczyk.
Baranczyk was voted Big 12 Coach of the Year by her colleagues for the first time as Oklahoma's head coach. The third-year Sooner head coach orchestrated one of the best turnarounds in college basketball, guiding OU to a 15-3 league record (21-8 overall) and its second consecutive Big 12 regular season championship after being picked fifth in the league's preseason poll.

Despite replacing four starters from last year's championship team, Baranczyk led the Sooners to five top-25 wins and the third-best winning percentage versus NET top-25 teams in the country en route to a championship. Baranczyk is the second Oklahoma coach to win the league's coach of the year award, as hall of fame coach Sherri Coale won the accolade four times.
