OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss Rebels baseball team picked up a crazy midweek victory on Tuesday in their annual Kids' Day game, beating the Little Rock Trojans in a 12-10 offensive slugfest.

While the bats showed up to secure the win for the Rebels, the performances on the mound for Ole Miss were less-than-desirable. Ole Miss started the game with freshman RHP Jordan Vera, and he quickly got the Rebels in a 2-0 hole to start the game. Vera only made it 3.0 innings on Tuesday, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out 4 batters.

After two relatively quiet innings, the Little Rock offense came to life scoring five runs in the fourth inning on freshman RHP Brayden Jones. Ole Miss answered in the bottom half of the fourth, however, thanks to two two-run bombs from right fielder TJ McCants and center fielder Ethan Groff, cutting Little Rock's lead down to one run.

The Trojans were able to score three more runs in the top of the sixth, but that was all the juice their offense had left in the tank, giving the Rebels a chance to take the lead thanks to a busy eighth inning from the Ole Miss bats.

The offense came in clutch for the Rebels but their pitching was subpar in the victory. The Ole Miss pitching staff threw a total of eight arms on Tuesday. RHP Cole Tolbert earned the win for Ole Miss after throwing for 2.0 innings and recording three hits and four strikeouts.

Following their midweek win over Little Rock, the Rebels now own an overall record of 24-21 with a 5-16 record versus conference opponents. Ole Miss' next matchup on the docket is a weekend series on the road versus the Missouri Tigers starting on Thursday night. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. CT, and the game can be streamed on ESPN+.
