Ole Miss WR Deuce Alexander Looks Set to Explode in 2026

In this story:
Redshirt sophomore wide receiver Deuce Alexander played a quiet role during his first two years at Ole Miss despite showing some early star potential and signing with the Rebels as a classic blue-chip, four-star receiver playing for Douglasville High School in Georgia.
Last season, however, allowed him to make a minor breakout on the field. Entering 2026, with quarterback Trinidad Chambliss returning and a year in the SEC under his belt, Alexander may be set to explode as one of the conference's most talented receivers.
Alexander Takes the Top Spot For X in Ole Miss' Depth Chart

After ending 2025 with a Fiesta Bowl loss and 684 yards, plus two touchdowns, on 44 catches, Alexander's name has made its way to the top of the Rebels' offensive depth chart, and the pass-catcher will be starting his role as Chambliss' X receiver.
Alexander will be followed by redshirt senior Horatio Fields and senior Isaiah Spencer as second and third-string, with senior Darrell Gill Jr. playing Z and senior Johntay Cook as slot. The setup is designed to capitalize on Chambliss' final year of collegiate eligibility, and Alexander looks ready to make a huge impact downfield.
The Georgia native consistently turns passes into game-changing plays, extending the ball at an average of 15.5 yards per catch last season. Alexander plays exceptionally long on the field, breaking away from pass coverage with surprising speed that makes him a reliable target in the end zone. He also added some rushing yards to his resume, with 122 yards on 19 carries and a long run of 31 yards.
Originally a transfer out of Wake Forest, Alexander ended his first year of collegiate play with 30 yards on two catches for the Demon Deacons, each at 15 yards apiece, before logging 400 yards and two touchdowns on 36 catches his second year.
After Wake Forest's season ended, Alexander headed into the transfer portal and was picked up by former Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin to be an immediate impact player. Some of his best moments came at the end of the season, including an 88-yard breakaway touchdown against Mississippi State in November and a one-handed catch against the Georgia Bulldogs in the Sugar Bowl.
Ole Miss has already kicked off the hype for Alexander's upcoming season, posting clips of his routes during spring practices. Alexander also received a new number in preparation for an explosive season — No. 1 — as the Rebels look to pick up where they left off in 2025 with an explosive offense in head coach Pete Golding's first full season at the helm.
