Portal EDGE B.J. Green Predicted to Flip Commitment to Ole Miss - Transfer Tracker

JAN 23 GREEN TO OLE MISS? The Ole Miss Rebels are hosting transfer portal EDGE B.J. Green this week, and he has now been projected to flip his commitment from the Washington Huskies to the Rebels.

Green has spent the first three years of his collegiate career with the Arizona State Sun Devils, and he recently committed to Washington out of the transfer portal. With the departure of Huskies head coach Kalen DeBoer to the Alabama Crimson Tide (and the flipped commitment of Tennessee's Tyler Baron), it appears that Green will take a look at Ole Miss for his 2024 home.

JAN 22 REBELS HOSTING ANOTHER WASHINGTON LINEMAN The Ole Miss Rebels are reportedly hosting another portal lineman from the Washington Huskies in the form of Julius Buelow, On3 reported on Monday.

Buelow joins Nate Kalepo and B.J. Green as visitors in Oxford this week.

JAN 19 REBELS HOSTING FORMER WASHINGTON OT The ongoing "snowpocalypse" in Oxford will not hold up recruitment for Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss, as the Rebels are set to host former Washington Huskies offensive tackle Nate Kalepo for a visit, according to On3.

This would be a huge get for the Rebels, as the former four-star recruit started in all 15 games for the Huskies this season. Kalepo is currently rated as the No. 8 offensive tackle available in the portal, and was graded as the No. 3 recruit coming out of the state of Washington in 2019.

JAN 18 'FAMOUS AMOS' TO OXFORD? Pete Nakos of On3 has logged a prediction that Alabama Crimson Tide cornerback Trey Amos will commit to the Ole Miss Rebels out of the transfer portal.

Amos began his career with the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns, suiting up in Lafayette for three seasons before joining the Tide in 2023. Over the course of his career, the corner has accumulated 71 total tackles (52 solo) and one interception.

The corner is set to visit Ole Miss this weekend.

JAN 17 ANOTHER TO THE CARDINALS? Pete Nakos of On3 has logged a prediction that former Illinois Fighting Illini defensive back and current Ole Miss commit Tahveon Nicholson will flip to the Louisville Cardinals.

Nicholson would be the third transfer commitment in recent weeks to flip to Louisville, should he elect to do so. Former Tennessee Volunteers Tamarion McDonald and Tyler Baron have both flipped to the Cardinals this month.

JAN 13 REBELS HOSTING MICHIGAN CB AMORION WALKER The Ole Miss Rebels are reportedly hosting Michigan Wolverines cornerback Amorion Walker this weekend, according to On3.

A native of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, Walker was rated as a three-star prospect out of high school, and he did not see a ton of action in Michigan's national championship run this season, only posting three total tackles and 0.5 TFLs.

JAN 10 REBELS TO HOST OXFORD-NATIVE DB Former Tennessee Volunteers defensive back and Oxford-native Brandon Turnage is reportedly set to visit the Ole Miss Rebels this weekend.

Turnage suited up in his prep days for Lafayette (Oxford, Miss.) High School, and he originally signed with the Alabama Crimson Tide before transferring to Tennessee for the 2021 season. In his collegiate career, he has totaled 48 tackles and one interception with the Vols.

JAN 9 OLE MISS SET TO HOST FORMER ALABAMA LB The Rebels are set to host former Alabama linebacker Kendrick Blackshire for a visit, according to a report made by On3 Tuesday night. Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding recruited the former four-star recruit when he was a member of Nick Saban's staff from 2018-2022.

Blackshire was rated as the No. 24 linebacker in the 2021 cycle and the No. 32 recruit in the state of Texas. The Duncanville, Tex., native is currently rated as the No. 34 linebacker in the portal, per On3's rankings. In three seasons with the Tide, Blackshire has registered 25 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.

JAN 8 REBELS LAND UNC OL TRANSFER On Monday, Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin landed a new key piece of the offensive line through the transfer portal.

The 6-5, 330 pounder announced his decision on social media on Monday. Ole Miss is running thin along the offensive line with recent losses. Starting tackle Victor Curne is out of eligibility and Micah Pettus was injured and missed the final four games of the season.

Pounds joins former Southern Miss guard Gerquan Scott who previously joined the Rebels through the portal.

JAN 7 REBELS TO HOST ANOTHER TRANSFER TACKLE Ole Miss is set to host former Tennessee offensive tackle Gerald Mincey, according to On3.

According to Volunteer Country on SI.com, Mincey was set to be a starter for the Vols on the offensive line in 2024, but he entered the transfer portal on Saturday and has quickly booked a trip to Oxford where the Rebels are looking to boost their own offensive front.

Mincey was a junior in 2023, and he currently measures in at 6-6 and 337 pounds.

JAN 4 REBELS SET TO HOST FORMER UNC OT THIS WEEKEND Lane Kiffin is on a quest to bolster his offensive line via the portal, as former North Carolina offensive tackle Diego Pounds is set to visit the Rebels this weekend, according to On3.

The 6-foot-7, 330-pound lineman is currently rated as the No. 3 tackle in the portal, per On3's rankings, and started in all 13 of UNC's games this season blocking for star quarterback Drake Maye. Pounds' trip to Ole Miss was announced the same day he entered the portal.  

JAN 3 FORMER MISSISSIPPI STATE OT SET TO VISIT OLE MISS Former Mississippi State offensive tackle Percy Lewis is starting a string of SEC visits on Wednesday and will be concluding his tour with a trip to Ole Miss on Friday, according to On3.

Lewis is rated as the No. 24 offensive tackle available in the transfer portal, per On3's transfer rankings. The senior was a four-star recruit in Mississippi State's 2020 class, and was graded as the No. 1 offensive tackle and No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Mississippi in the same cycle.

JAN 1 WYDNER EXITS Ole Miss Rebels quarterback Davin Wydner has entered the transfer portal, Rivals reported on Monday.

Wydner, a Florida native, was a freshman this season, and he did not see a snap during his time at Ole Miss.

DEC 23 NEW WR COMMIT Former Texas A&M and Florida Atlantic wide receiver Devin Price committed to transfer to the Ole Miss Rebels on Friday night.

Price, who originally signed with the Aggies as part of the 2020 recruiting class, left College Station via the NCAA Transfer Portal in 2022, Landing at Appalachian State in February of 2023.

He wasn't there long, however, transferring to Florida Atlantic just a couple of months later. Price then entered the portal again on December 6, eventually landing with the Rebels late on Friday.

Last season with FAU, Price had seen catches for 120 yards and a score in 11 games. At Texas A&M, he played in 24 games in two seasons, making five catches for 59 yards.

Price is the son of late Texas A&M defensive line coach Terry Price, who passed away this year. 

DEC 19 HOME STRETCH WITH NOLEN On3 reported on Tuesday that Walter Nolen will choose between Ole Miss and Oregon for his next college football home after entering the transfer portal from Texas A&M earlier this month.

Nolen is widely considered to be the top talent available in the portal as of today, and he visited Oxford last week in an attempt to narrow down his decision. According to On3's recruitment database, Nolen was rated as the No. 1 overall player in the 2022 cycle coming out of high school. In two seasons with the Aggies, he recorded 66 tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup.

DEC 18 SIMMONS TO THE PORTAL Ole Miss freshman wide receiver Larry Simmons has entered the transfer portal, Rivals reported on Monday night.

Simmons was a three-star prospect out of Moss Point (Miss.) High School, but he only saw one snap on the field this season as a backup wideout against Georgia Tech. He was redshirted in the 2023 season.

DEC 14 UMANMIELEN TO OLE MISS? The Ole Miss Rebels have been very active in the transfer portal since it opened this month, and that activity could continue with some big names in the near future.

Matt Zenitz, who covers college football for 247Sports, placed a crystal ball prediction on Wednesday that the Rebels would land Florida Gators transfer Princely Umanmielen out of the portal. Umanmielen was recently in Oxford for an official visit with the Rebels.

In the 2023 season with the Gators, Umanmielen accumulated 22 solo tackles and seven sacks.

DEC 13 DATE SET FOR NOLEN VISIT According to a report from On3, a date has been set for Texas A&M defensive lineman transfer Walter Nolen to visit the Ole Miss Rebels.

Per the report, Nolen is set to be in Oxford on Friday of this week. He is rated as the top player currently available in the transfer portal, and he recently visited the Oregon Ducks as he narrows down his program choices.

DEC 11 NO. 1 EDGE IN TRANSFER PORTAL VISITING OXFORD Ole Miss is hosting former Florida Gators defensive end Princely Umanmielen on Monday night, according to On3's Zach Berry. The Manor, Tex., native is rated as the No. 1 edge defender and the No. 3 overall player in the portal, according to On3 rankings

In four seasons with Florida, the junior registered 98 total tackles, 24.5 tackles for loss, and 14.5 sacks. As of Monday night, On3 has Umanmielen listed as a 100 percent lock for Ole Miss on his recruitment profile

DEC 11 NO. 1 PLAYER IN PORTAL SET TO VISIT OLE MISS NEXT The Ole Miss Rebels are hunting big game, as they are reportedly set to host the No. 1 overall player in the NCAA Transfer Portal this cycle, defensive lineman Walter Nolen, per 247Sports. The former Texas A&M Aggie is coming off a visit with the Oregon Ducks 

According to On3's recruitment database, Nolen was rated as the No. 1 overall player in the 2022 cycle coming out of high school. In two seasons with the Aggies, Nolen recorded 66 tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup. 

DEC 9 'TWO JUICES' Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart shared a photo of head coach Lane Kiffin, his dog Juice and transfer portal wide receiver Juice Wells on Friday night. Wells is on his official visit with the Rebels after entering the transfer portal from the South Carolina Gamecocks.

DEC 8 OLE MISS OL OFFICIALLY ENTERS NCAA TRANSFER PORTAL Junior offensive lineman Cedric Melton officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Friday morning, according to On3

The former three-star recruit was a member of Ole Miss' 2020 recruitment class, and primarily played on special teams or as a reserve lineman after redshirting his freshman season. Melton was rated as the No. 157 offensive tackle and No. 189 player in the state of Texas in the 2020 cycle.

DEC 8 MUKUBA TO VISIT OLE MISS Clemson Tigers defensive back Andrew Mukuba is in the transfer portal, and he has released the schools he plans to visit next week, he told On3.

Mukuba is set to visit Oklahoma, Texas, Oregon, USC and Ole Miss next week, according to the report. He is a native of Austin, Texas, and he has played in 35 games at Clemson, earning ACC Rookie of the Year honors in 2021.

In 2023, he registered 45 tackles and two TFLs on a stout Clemson defense.

DEC 8 'JUICE' TO VISIT OLE MISS According to a report from On3, Antwane "Juice" Wells Jr. is scheduled to visit Ole Miss and Texas this weekend. It was also reported yesterday that the Rebels were making a "strong push" for the South Carolina wide receiver.

DEC 7 'JUICE' TO THE SIP? (NOT THE DOG) Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss have reportedly made a "strong push" for South Carolina Gamecocks portal wide receiver Antwane "Juice" Wells Jr., according to a report from On3.

It is stated that the Oregon Ducks are also hot on the receiver's trail, and the Tennessee Volunteers and Texas Longhorns are also in the mix.

Wells suffered a broken bone in his foot in 2023, and he only recorded three receptions before the injury. In 2022, however, he was named First-Team All-SEC by multiple outlets, and prior to suiting up for the Gamecocks, he played for the James Madison Dukes in 2020 and 2021.

DEC 6 KIFFIN HINTING AT BIG TIME TRANSFER? Lane Kiffin fired off a set of cryptic posts on Wednesday afternoon via X (formerly known as Twitter), and it appears Ole Miss' coach could be signaling at a big name commitment from the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Kiffin first posted a picture of a golf cart covered in South Carolina Gamecocks decals, as to possibly give a hint to his current location. In less than an hour, Kiffin quickly posted two cryptic gifs from the movie "Moneyball" - one showing an ecstatic Jonah Hill, and another of Billy Beane (Brad Pitt) explaining that "this is a process."

To make things even more interesting, Kiffin also reposted On3's announcement that former Texas A&M defensive lineman Walter Nolan had officially entered the portal on Wednesday afternoon. According to On3, Nolan is rated as the No. 1 overall player in the portal in the 2024 cycle. The former-five star recruit was the No. 1 overall prospect in 2022.

DEC 5 OKLAHOMA DB VISITED REBELS The Rebels hosted another transfer on Tuesday, as former Oklahoma Sooners defensive back Key Lawerence reportedly visited Ole Miss, according to On3.

Lawerence has spent the last three seasons playing for Oklahoma where he recorded 149 tackles, 10 TFLs, one sack, three interceptions, and 12 pass breakups. Before that, however, he played his freshman season with the Tennessee Volunteers. The former four-star recruit was rated as the No. 5 safety and No. 1 player in Tennessee in the 2020 cycle.

DEC 5 'POOH' PAUL TO VISIT OLE MISS Transfer portal season is already heating up, and the Ole Miss Rebels appear to be in the mix for a good bit of proven talent.

Sources confirmed to Steven Willis of Locked On Ole Miss this week that Arkansas Razorbacks portal linebacker Chris "Pooh" Paul Jr. is set to visit Ole Miss this weekend. The Grove Report also independently verified this report, and, according to sources, Lane Kiffin visited Paul in Fayetteville on Monday. Paul announced his intent to enter the portal on Nov. 27, and he will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Beginning with four games played in the 2021 season, Paul has suited up in 28 games with the Razorbacks, registering 138 total tackles and six sacks so far in his collegiate career.

Along with Ole Miss, Paul holds offers from other notable schools such as the TCU Horned Frogs, Auburn Tigers, Missouri Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, and Texas A&M Aggies.

DEC 1 FRESHMAN TE REMAINING A REBEL Freshman tight end Jayvontay Conner recently announced that he is no longer entering the portal after announcing on Tuesday that he would be transferring out of Oxford.

"After much thought with family, also close ones. I will not be entering the transfer portal and will be remaining an Ole Miss Rebel. The opportunity is sky high and I’m looking forward to continuing my career here and continue building what we are building here. Hotty Toddy!!" -- Conner via X (formerly Twitter).

Conner was a three-star prospect in Ole Miss' 2023 recruitment class and will have three years of eligibility remaining unless he decides to use his Redshirt. 

NOV 30 TWO MORE REBELS MAKE PORTAL ANNOUNCEMENTS Two more Ole Miss Rebels announced their intention to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal on Thursday night. 

Junior kicker Caden Costa and sophomore tight end Kyirin Heath will both be entering the portal with two years eligibility remaining. 

"Next chapter… Thank you Ole Miss," Costa posted via X.

This season, Heath hauled in four passes for 60 yards in seven games while Costa only attempted one field goal and six PATs in three contests. Costa served as a backup to Caden Davis who transferred to Ole Miss ahead of the 2023 season. 

NOV 29 IN-STATE OFFICIAL VISIT Southern Miss offensive lineman Gerquan Scott is reportedly set to visit Ole Miss this weekend, according to On3. Scott was offered by the Rebels this week, according to his social media, and he is currently listed as a redshirt junior.

A native of Mobile, Ala., Scott played his prep ball at Davidson H.S., and he was also a teammate of current Rebels defensive lineman Cedric Johnson.

According to his posts on X, the platform previously known as Twitter, Scott has garnered interest from multiple programs around the country, including Auburn, South Carolina, Colorado, Vanderbilt and others.

NOV 28 TWO REBELS DEPART Two Ole Miss Rebels announced their intention to enter the transfer portal this week.

The first player, Isheem Young, is technically no longer a part of the Ole Miss program. Head coach Lane Kiffin revealed that information following his team's win over Texas A&M earlier this season, and he had previously noted that Young did not suit up against Vanderbilt due to disciplinary issues.

“I got one more year left of [college football]," Young posted. "I’ll be in the portal after I graduate in a couple weeks.”

"Isheem's not part of our program," Kiffin said after the Texas A&M game. "We wish him the best. We're just trying to get the guys ready that are here."

The second Rebel to announce his intent to transfer is freshman tight end Jayvontay Conner. Conner will have four years of eligibility remaining after being redshirted in the 2023 season.

"I will be entering my name into the transfer portal as a Redshirt Freshman with 4 years of eligibility left," Conner via X (formerly known as Twitter). "Thank you Oxford."
