Help is on the way in Eugene.

Following a heavy wave of transfer departures, the Ducks have landed a transfer of their own.

On Friday morning, former Georgia guard Kario Oquendo committed to Oregon, as first reported by Joe Tipton of On3 Sports.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound junior guard finished the 2022 season averaging 12.7 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. He shot 26.7% from three-point range and 39.2% from the floor.

In 2021 he was the Bulldogs' leading scorer overall at 15.2 points per game and in SEC play at 18.3 points per game. Oquendo was also durable during his time in Athens, starting all 59 of his 61 career games.

Oquendo is originally from Titusville, Florida and played at Florida SouthWestern State prior to playing at Georgia. He had Oregon in his top schools along with Marquette before signing with the Bulldogs for his first transfer.

He's a welcome addition for Dana Altman and the Ducks, who have now lost five players to the transfer portal this offseason after forward Quincy Guerrier announced his days in the green and yellow were over earlier this week.

Oquendo will add important depth for Oregon at guard, as the Ducks lost Rivaldo Soares to the portal and Will Richardson exhausted his college eligibility in 2022. Former South Carolina transfer Jermaine Couisnard will return in 2023, but Keeshawn Barthelemy has yet to finalize his decision.

The Ducks signed the No. 12 recruiting class in 2023 according to 247Sports, featuring West Linn point guard Jackson Shelstad, as well as forwards Kwame Evans Jr. and Mookie Cook, who both rank inside the top 25 nationally.

Oregon is also trending for former Northern Colorado small forward Dalton Knecht after hosting him for a visit this spring.
