Arizona Cardinals Draft Jordan Burch: 5 Things To Know About 'Dangerous' EDGE

In this story:
The Arizona Cardinals drafted former Oregon Ducks EDGE Jordan Burch with the No. 78 pick of the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Cardinals are getting great value in Day 2 by landing one of the top edge rushers left on the board as coming into the day, Burch was the No. 3 edge rusher and No. 20 best player available according to ESPN. Burch has been compared to Buffalo Bills star Greg Rousseau due to their similar size and explosive motor.
"Thrilled for Jordan! Sky is the limit. Cardinals got a game wrecker!" wrote Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning on X of his former player in Burch.
Here are five things to know about the newly-drafted Burch.
1. Elite Athleticism and size

During the NFL Combine, Burch only tested during the 40-yard dash and the 10-yard split and ranked inside the top half for edge rushers in each test. Burch is 6-foot-4, 279 pounds, great size for a NFL defensive end. Oregon coach Dan Lanning said it perfectly when describing Burch before the Rose Bowl.
“When people see him, they’re surprised to hear he’s really 300 pounds because he looks really good at his size, but he plays like a beast on the field, with relentless effort, and the fact that we have great depth and several guys that can play edge positions for us, it allows us to make sure that when he’s on the field he’s fresh, and a fresh Jordan Burch is really dangerous," Lanning said.
2. Led talented position room

Burch led one of the most talented position rooms in the country during his two years with the Ducks. This past season, he lined up opposite of potential future NFL first round pick Matayo Uiagalelei.
In 2024, Burch finished second among Ducks with career-highs of 8.5 sacks and 11.0 tackles for loss, plus 31 total tackles, six pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Burch's six pass breakups ranked second among Big Ten defensive linemen.
3. Recognition

Burch has an impressive resume. As an Oreogn Duck senior in 2024 he earned:
- All-Big Ten third team (coaches & media)
- Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week (Week 6)
- Reese’s Senior Bowl Co-Defensive Player of the Week (Week 6)
- Shrine Bowl Breakout Defensive Player of the Week (Week 6)
4. Quotable

Oregon Ducks coach Dan Lanning raved about Burch ahead of the Rose Bowl.
“Just his size and athleticism. God doesn’t make a lot of people that look like Jordan Burch,” Lanning said.
