The Five Top Games to Watch in College Football Week 2

It's another college football Saturday and there's plenty of great games to watch if want to sit on your couch all day.

Here are my top five games to watch outside of No. 13 Oregon vs. Texas Tech.

1. No. 3 Alabama vs. No. 11 Texas

Watch: 4 PM PT on ESPN

The game of the week doesn't need much of an introduction.

Is Texas back? Head Coach Steve Sarkisian will travel with the Longhorns to Tuscaloosa as they look to avenge last year's 20-19 loss at the hands of Nick Saban and the Tide.

Texas' roster continues to resemble that of an SEC team ahead of their move to the conference in 2024, and it's hard to think of a much tougher test than the Crimson Tide.

Quinn Ewers was having a great game against the Tide last year before he was injured, and he's got nothing but elite talent to throw to at wide receiver this season. Further adding to the intrigue in this game is all Alabama moving on from Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young with new starting quarterback Jalen Milroe.

I'm hoping for a close game but I think the Tide rolls at home on Saturday.

2. No. 22 Colorado vs. Nebraska

Watch: 9:00 AM PT on Fox

Deion Sanders and the Buffs have the whole country talking about Colorado after a week 1 win over TCU. I was impressed to see them win that game, but the Horned Frogs aren't what they were in 2022 when they went to the national title game.

That said, this is going to be a very fun team to watch as long as Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders are playing. Duck fans will want to keep an eye on this game as Oregon opens Pac-12 play against the Buffs later this month.

Nebraska and quarterback Jeff Sims are coming off a loss to Minnesota in the season opener. He only completed 11 passes and threw three interceptions so he'd love to bounce back.

Both of these teams really need a win but I'm going to go with Colorado to win in front of a sold-out crowd in Boulder.

3. No. 12 Utah vs. Baylor

Watch: 9:00 AM PT on ESPN

The Utes started their season on a high note with a win at home over Florida and they did it without Cam Rising. Their defense is always strong and they'll look for another solid day against the Bears, who want to bounce back after losing to Texas State 42-31 in week 1.

Oregon fans will want to keep an eye on the Utes because they have to travel to Salt Lake city in late October, which has always proven to be a tough game.

I expect Utah to handle business in Waco.

4. No. 23 Texas A&M vs. Miami

Watch: 12:30 PM PT on ESPN

This is an interesting one because it feels like the Aggies have largely underachieved under head coach Jimbo Fisher. They've had no problem recruiting the best players in the country but that hasn't translated to on-field success.

As for the Canes, they're still trying to restore the glory of Miami football after going 5-7 in Mario Cristobal's debut season as the head coach. They won 38-3 over Miami of Ohio last week and they'll get to host the Aggies at home in a game that both coaches really need to win.

I'm going to pick the Aggies to win this one on the road.

5. No. 20 Ole Miss vs. No. 24 Tulane

Watch: 12:30 PM PT on ESPN 2

Lane Kiffin and the Rebels hit the road to face the Green Wave in New Orleans. Jaxson Dart threw for 334 yards and 4 touchdowns last week in a 73-7 win over Mercer, but Tulane should give him a tougher time.

Tulane's starting quarterback Michael Pratt will be a game-time decision according to ESPN's Pete Thamel, which adds to the intrigue of a game that feels like a trap game for Ole Miss.

I think this one could be a fun one if Pratt's able to go, but give me the Rebels to win on Satuday.
