Oregon Ducks Recruiting: Favorites For Elite Linebacker Hudson Dunn Over Michigan?

In this story:
The Oregon Ducks have been busy locking in dates for official visits with recruits. The first weekend of June is shaping up to be one of the most important weekends in the entire recruiting cycle for the Ducks.
Starting on June 6, Oregon is expected to have a couple of their top commits like five-star offensive tackle Kodi Greene set to visit Eugene, but will have high-priority uncommitted targets like three-star linebacker Hudson Dunn on campus as well. Just last week, Dunn made the journey to visit Oregon coach Dan Lanning and the Ducks.

Dunn spoke to 247Sports about his recent unofficial visit to Eugene.
"I got to see a practice, which was huge for me, and then I got to see more of the actual town itself, as well as the facilities, too. I got to experience meetings and talk ball with the coaches. They make me feel like a priority, both as a player and person who can fit into their defense and culture," Dunn said to 247.
The No. 45 linebacker and No. 6 player in the state of Arizona according to 247Sports Composite rankings, Dunn said the Ducks have always remained in high regard to him throughout his recruitment process.
"Oregon has always been very high on my list and they still are. I'm still identifying my top school — this recruiting process is super active and we'll see honestly how I feel," Dunn said. "I'll know where home is when the time is right and what's best for me and my family at the end of the day."
The Ducks have lots of recent success recruiting the state of Arizona. During the 2025 recruiting cycle, Oregon signed four-star wide receiver Cooper Perry, who was ranked as the No. 4 player in Arizona according to 247Sports. In the 2024 recruiting cycle, Lanning and the Ducks signed the state's Nos. 1 and 7 prospects, bringing in five-star edge rusher Elijah Rushing and three-star edge rusher Jaxon Jones. Ultimately, both Jones and Rushing entered the portal and departed the program.

Dunn has three official visits lined up already. He will be visiting the Minnesota Golden Gophers on May 30 and follows up his trip to Eugene with a visit to the Michigan Wolverines on June 20.
Oregon currently has only one linebacker committed in their 2026 recruiting class in four-star Tristan Phillips. The Ducks signed two four-star linebackers during the 2025 recruiting cycle, making it likely that they would take multiple linebackers for the consecutive cycle.
Heading into the summer, the Ducks will have to be on the lookout as they continue to battle it out with some of the top schools in the country for their priority recruits. If Lanning and Oregon's coaching staff have proved anything, it's to not count out the Ducks.
