"I am truly blessed and humbled by the opportunity to make a lifelong dream come true," Irving wrote over social media. "That said, I have decided to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft!"
Irving transferred to Oregon from Minnesota prior to the 2022 season and made an instant impact as the Ducks top running back.
He rushed for over 1,000 yards in each of his two seasons with the Ducks, finishing the 2023 season with 1,063 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 172 carries. He averaged 6.2 yards per carry and also catch 56 passes for 395 yards and 2 touchdowns.
During his time with the Ducks Irving made a name for himself as one of the toughest runners in the Pac-12, routinely making something out of nothing, getting creative with his runs and showing remarkable balance and toughness.
The Chicago native will be the next Oregon running back to try his hand at the NFL level, following in the footsteps of former greats like LaMichael James, Kenjon Barner, LeGarrette Blount and Royce Freeman.
Irving did not announce whether or not he would play in Oregon's bowl game against Liberty on January 1.
With Irving announcing his departure, the Ducks' projected running back room will consist of Noah Whittington, Jordan James, Jayden Limar, Dante Dowdell and 2024 running back commit Da'Jaun Riggs.
