Former Oregon and Texas Tech quarterback Tyler Shough has committed to the Louisville Cardinals. He announced his decision over social media on Tuesday.

"Let's play football. #GoCards" Shough wrote in a social media post.

Shough announced his intent to enter the transfer portal on November 19 after he suffered a fractured fibula against the West Virginia on September 23, just two weeks after facing Oregon, which cut his season short.

The Gilbert, Arizona native reinvented himself as a quarterback in Lubbock after struggling during his time with the Ducks under head coach Mario Cristobal.

In his five years as a quarterback at the college level, he's thrown for 4,625 yards and 75 touchdowns against 17 interceptions, while completing 63.2% of his passes. He can also escape the pocket and run when he needs to, rushing for 714 yards and 10 touchdowns on 204 carries.

Shough's arrival in Louisville comes at just the right time for head coach Jeff Brohm, as the Cardinals are set to break in a new starting quarterback following the departure of senior Jack Plummer this year.

Following a 16-6 loss to the undefeated Florida State Seminoles in the ACC Championship Game last weekend, Louisville is set to face the USC Trojans in the DIRECTV Holiday Bowl on December 27.

Other notable quarterbacks that have entered the transfer portal include Washington State's Cam Ward, Oklahoma's Dillon Gabriel and Duke's Riley Leonard, to name a few. The Ducks are reportedly set to host Gabriel on campus for a visit this week and could be pulling away as the favorite to land his commitment.
