How Former Ducks Performed in NFL Week 1

In this story:
Football is in the air.
Whether you like the Friday Night Lights, College Football Saturdays or NFL Sundays-- you can now get your fill.
While the Oregon Ducks came away with a big 38-30 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders on the road in Lubbock on Saturday, some Pro Ducks were making noise at the NFL level in week 1.
Jevon Holland, Juwan Johnson and Deommodore Lenoir all took home wins, while some other Ducks had big days but weren't quite as fortunate.
Here's a recap of how former Ducks fared in the first NFL Sunday of the year.
Chargers QB Justin Herbert
Stat line: 23/33, 228 passing yards, 1 TD | 5 carries, 18 rushing yards, 1 TD
The Chargers dropped a tough one against the Miami Dolphins 36-34 at home in Los Angeles behind a phenomenal day from wide receiver Tyreek Hill. They'll hope to bounce back in week 2 against the Tennessee Titans.
Dolphins Safety Jevon Holland
Stat line: 14 total tackles, 10 solo tackles, 1 TFL
Holland was the leading tackler for the Miami defense in their 36-34 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Giants DE Kayvon Thiboeaux
Stat line: 4 total tackles, 1 solo tackle
It wasn't a game to write home about for anyone on the Giants, who lost in blowout fashion 40-0 to the Dallas Cowboys. That said, there are plenty of talented pieces on the Giants' defense to be a strong unit this season.
Colts DL DeForest Buckner
Stat line: 7 total tackles, 4 solo tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 2 QB hits, scoop and score TD
Buckner was the talk of the town for the Colts' defense on Sunday, highlighted by his scoop-and-score touchdown. However his big day wasn't enough as the Colts fell to the Jacksonville Jaguars 31-21.

Lions OL Penei Sewell
Sewell helped lead the Lions to a big 21-20 upset win over the defending super bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. Detroit ran for over 115 yards on the chiefs and Jared Goff had a solid day throwing for 253 yards.
Patriots CB Christian Gonzalez
Stat line: 7 total tackles, 5 solo tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 1 QB hit
Gonzalez made his NFL debut with the Patriots and had a great game going up against some of the best wide receivers in the league in A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith. His highlight of the day was a sack of Eagles QB Jalen Hurts.

Saints TE Juwan Johnson
Stat line: 5 targets, 3 receptions, 36 yards
It was a solid day at the office for Johnson and the Saints, who were led by new quarterback Derek Carr on Sunday at home against Tennessee. The Saints edged out a narrow 16-15 win.
49ers CB Deommodore Lenoir
Stat line: 10 total tackles, 8 solo
Lenoir led the 49ers in tackles on Sunday in a dominant 30-7 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road at Heinz Field. He'll work in the secondary alongside Talanoa Hufanga and Charvarius Ward on one of the best defenses in football.
