Linebacker is a major position of need for the Ducks in 2024 and new linebackers coach Brian Michalowski has a chance to make some noise.

Noah Sewell was the face of Oregon linebackers during his three years in Eugene.

Now that he's off to the NFL linebacker is a priority position for Dan Lanning and the Ducks to fill in the 2024 recruiting class. Here's a look at some of the top names the Ducks are recruiting at the position.

*Note: We will have a separate story looking at edge rushers specifically*

Dylan Williams (Long Beach, CA)

Dylan Williams is a former USC commit out of Long Beach Poly. He's continued to see his recruiting stock skyrocket with seemingly every major offer coming in after he de-committed from the Trojans.

The Ducks signed his teammate, cornerback Daylen Austin in the 2023 class and Williams is a prime candidate to continue the Poly pipeline. He's locked in one of his five official visits to Texas but I still feel like Oregon leads this recruitment thanks in large part to defensive graduate assistant Rashad Wadood and Tosh Lupoi.

Justin Williams (Conroe, TX)

Justin Williams is another big target for Dan Lanning in the 2024 class. He's ranked one of the top players in Texas and if you watch his film it's easy to see why.

The converted safety is quick and always around the ball. He's taken numerous trips to Eugene and I actually thought he was pretty close to committing at one point in the process.

He's working from a top six that includes Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Auburn and USC. However, recent offers from Alabama, Oklahoma and Ohio State could add another layer of complexity to a recruitment that looked like it was winding down.

Kamar Mothudi (Valley Village, CA)

Mothudi is another top name on the West Coast. Oregon offered in January and continues to be in a good spot. Like the aforementioned players, his recruitment has also continued on an upward trajectory with recent offers from Nebraska, Arizona State and Utah.

He visited Washington in late January and is one of the most athletic linebackers in the country, also doubling as star running back at Campbell Hall. The Ducks got in relatively early, but don't be surprised if more big-time schools come calling.

Brayden Platt (Yelm, WA)

Platt is a name that's been on Oregon's radar since before Lanning was hired. He's one of the top prospects in the Northwest and is a crazy blend of size, speed and athleticism at 6'2", 240 pounds.

His recruitment isn't slowing down with recent offers coming in from USC, UCLA, Notre Dame and Oklahoma. He's built strong relationships with Tosh Lupoi and Dan Lanning and the Ducks have dominated the state of Washington on the recruiting trail seemingly whenever they want.

Platt plans to get back out to Eugene this spring to meet new linebackers coach Brian Michalowski.

Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa (Bellflower, CA)

Villiamu-Asa is one of the biggest names in the country despite missing a ton of time his sophomore year due to a knee injury. He bounced back in a big way in 2022 to help Bosco win a national championship, which is why he's one of the most highly-coveted linebackers you'll find.

His recruitment has taken him all over the country with visits to Georgia, Ohio State and Louisville. He's taken recent trips to nearby USC as well as Oregon and checked out Miami coming out of the February dead period.

The Ducks signed Matayo Uiagalelei in the 2023 class out of Bosco and both Viliamu-Asa and his teammate, safety Peyton Woodyard, are big targets for Oregon.
