Oregon has landed their second commitment from the transfer portal this offseason.

Northwest Missouri State running back Jay Harris has committed to the Oregon Ducks. He announced his decision over social media on Monday morning.

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound back and St. Louis, Missouri native is fresh off a trip to Eugene to see Dan Lanning and the Ducks this weekend after entering the transfer portal on December 4. He'll have three years to use his two remaining two seasons of eligibility remaining upon enrolling at Oregon.

Harris spent two seasons with the Bearcats before landing in Eugene to continue his college football career. In those two seasons he played in 15 games and ran for 1,645 total yards and 19 touchdowns on 292 carries.

In 2023 alone he ran for 1,433 yards and 14 touchdowns on 244 carries, averaging 5.9 yards per carry. He also caught 10 passes for 32 receiving yards. He was named an AP Division II All-American.

With the addition of Harris, Oregon will once again have one of the most loaded running back rooms in the country despite losing Bucky Irving, who declared for the 2024 NFL Draft after two seasons with the Ducks.

Headlined by junior Noah Whittington, whose 2023 season was cut short by a season-ending injury, Carlos Locklyn's group looks like it will be a three-headed monster.

Harris will rotate with Whittington and true sophomore Jordan James, who played in all 13 games for the Ducks this year, rushing for 885 yards and 11 touchdowns on 98 carries.

The Ducks will also return freshman Jayden Limar, who played in 10 games, and they'll add true freshman Da'Jaun Riggs to the mix after he signs his National Letter of Intent later this week.

The rich get richer as Oregon continues to add big-time offensive weapons.
