Oregon Lands Commitment From Tyler Kinsman, No. 1 Punter in 2024

Dan Lanning and the Ducks have landed an elite special teams piece.

2024 Nampa (Id.) Skyview punter Tyler Kinsman has announced his commitment to the Oregon Ducks. 

He shared his decision over social media on Thursday.

"I'm beyond blessed to announce that I have committed to The University of Oregon! Oregon Football has shown so much love and has made this decision easy for me," he said over social media. "There's nowhere like Oregon! Thank you to my parents, coaches, friends, and mentors for carrying me through this journey."

Kinsman is ranked the No. 1 punter in the country according to Chris Sailor kicking. He stands at 6'5", 225 pounds and is rated a five-star recruit by the same service.

He's also ranked the No. 8 punter/kicker in the country according to 247Sports. The newest Duck, Kinsman was recently in town for a visit when Oregon faced Washington State in October. 

With Kinsman in the fold, he'll likely compete with redshirt sophomore Ross James and freshman Luke Dunne for the starting job. He could also find himself with a chance to compete at kicker, as senior Camden Lewis is in his final year of college eligibility.
