Over the weekend Oregon hosted 6-foot-3, 224-pound Valley Village (Calif.) Campbell Hall linebacker Kamar Mothudi. He's been a top target for the Ducks since they offered in January and I caught up with him to talk about the trip and what's next.

Q: Why did you make this return trip to Oregon?

Mothudi: "Actually so I could get back up there with my Mom. I saw the program with my Dad. Me and him both loved it. Just to get another perspective on it I needed my mom to be there. To see it and get her thoughts on it. So that's why I returned. She might've loved it more than me."

Q: What were some highlights of the trip?

Mothudi: "Probably just getting to go over the defense and sit down and chat with Coach Brian Michalowksi. I got to talk to coach Lanning for a bit too. Definitely a highlight. Probably those two."

Q: What's your relationship like with Dan Lanning?

Mothudi: "I think our relationship is great. When I was out there he made it clear how much of a priority I was for them. He was sitting with me at dinner. He was with me at the photoshoot."

Q: What was the atmosphere like at Autzen?

Mothudi: "It was amazing. Walking out, they're chanting recruits' names, come be a Duck, come be a Duck. The game starts, big plays are happening. It was great energy."

Q: What'd you think of the defense?

Mothudi: "I loved it. I loved it. Every player was to the ball. Everybody was aggressive physical. Even for just a spring game I could tell everyone was really competing, which is something I love to see and I'm looking for in a program."

Q: Did you get to spend time with any commits or players?

Mothudi: "I met Jaxson Jones. I met him on my first visit coming up. Me and him have gotten pretty cool. Our families were talking. Jordan Anderson, I knew him. He's part of my same pop warner organization. He's always pushing to Oregon, so I talk to him a bit. Connor Soelle, he was the one that kind of showed me around."

Q: Where does Oregon stand in your recruitment?

Mothudi: "I would say right now probably they're near the top for sure."

Q: What future trips do you have scheduled?

Mothudi: "Basically just OV's. I have all four of the weekends booked. I have Oregon State the first weekend in June. Utah the second, that might change, but for right now Utah the second weekend. Washington the third weekend and then I'm finishing off with Oregon the fourth. But right before that, the weekdays leading up to that I have Cal, the 20-22 I believe."

Q: What schools are you hearing from the most right now?

Mothudi: "It's kind of weird, it feels like everybody, almost since I went back up to Oregon, almost every school that's offered me has kind of been reaching out. Washington, Utah, Nebraska, Oregon State, Cal, Michigan State."

Q: Did this trip change your decision timeline at all?

Mothudi: "Yeah I think it did. It's moved up kind of. I was thinking July first, but I don't have an exact date. Kind of like July, the beginning of July time, early July."

*NOTE*: I made my prediction for Kamar Mothudi to commit to Oregon on March 22 and I see no reason to waver.
