Penn State's Michael Robinson Joins NBC's Big Ten Coverage

The former Lions QB will serve as an analyst for NBC's B1G College Countdown show.

Former Penn State quarterback Michael Robinson returns to college football this fall as part of NBC Sports' coverage of the Big Ten. Robinson will serve as an analyst on NBC's B1G College Countdown show, which will lead into the network's B1G Saturday Night broadcast. Robinson's first stop: a return to Beaver Stadium when Penn State hosts West Virginia in its season-opener Sept. 2.

Robinson, the 2005 Big Ten offensive player of the year, has become an important football voice since retiring from the NFL in 2013. He is an analyst at NFL Network, covers the USFL for NBC and is the Seattle Seahawks' preseason TV analyst.

Robinson joins a B1G College Countdown team that includes hosts Maria Taylor and Ahmed Fareed and analysts Matt Cassel and Joshua Perry. NBC's broadcast team also features another former Penn State quarterback, as Todd Blackledge joins host Noah Engle in the booth to call the Saturday night games.

Penn State currently has three games scheduled on NBC platforms, including its Nov. 24 visit to Ford Field to play Michigan State. The Sept. 9 Penn State-Delaware game will air on the Peacock streaming-only service, marking the Lions' first non-network or cable-television appearance since their 2003 game against Kent State. Since then, 243 consecutive Penn State games have been televised. Peacock offers a monthly $4.99 plan that can be canceled at anytime.
