To make the team, Wilson-Frame competed at the USA Basketball 3X Nationals, where he played against other 3x3 hopefuls. Wilson-Frame is joined on the team by Isaiah Brown, Austin Butler, Hassani Gravett, Khalil Iverson, Rodney Pryor and Keaton Wallace, all of whom have played 3X3 before, but never at the FIBA level.
Although this is his first time playing in an organized three-on-three tournament, Wilson-Frame is no stranger to international competition. After a successful senior season at Pitt in which he averaged 12.7 points and five rebounds per game while shooting 36% from 3-point distance, he played internationally in Belgium and Mexico. He signed a pro contract with the Ottawa BlackJacks of the Canadian Elite Basketball League this spring.
Wilson-Frame played his last full season with the Salt Lake City Stars of the NBA's G-League, averaging 17.0 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.7 assists in more than 36 minutes per game over 31 games.
ESPN college basketball commentator and former head coach at St. John's and New Mexico, will coach the teams.
3x3 is different from normal basketball in that it is played continuously with a running, 10-minute game clock and 12-second shot clock. The game is confined to half court and teams "clear" the ball past the three-point line on a change of possession. Games are played until a team scores 21 points or time runs out. Normal two-pointers are worth one and normal three-pointers worth two.
