Pitt G Greg Elliott Preparing for Overseas Career

Former Pitt Panther Greg Elliott expects to sign with foreign team soon.

PITTSBURGH -- In between his friendly battles with former Pitt Panthers greats at the Petersen Events Center, Greg Elliott is picking their brains. His work to prepare for The Zoo Crew's run through The Basketball Tournament coincides with preparation for a professional career he says is coming soon.

To that end, Elliott has been picking the brains of former Pitt greats like Levance Fields, who has played extensive overseas careers in anticipation of signing with a team soon.

"I always want to learn, pick the older guys’ brains about whatever I can when it comes to basketball," Elliott said. "Like right now, I’m ready to go overseas, something he’s done for multiple years at a high level, so I’m picking his brain about stuff like that."

Elliott added that he's currently negotiating with teams, but declined to share who they are specifically. He said to stay tuned, however, because an announcement is near.

"I don’t know where I’m going yet, but it’s coming soon," Elliott said.

He spent four years at Marquette but had the most successful season of his college career with the Panthers, averaging career-highs in points, rebounds, 3-point field goals made and attempted and shooting the second-highest percentage from deep of his career.

Elliott averaged 10.4 points and 4.4 rebounds per game while making 41.6% of his 3-point shots on a career-high 5.1 attempts over 29.3 minutes per contest while adding a steady, positive presence for the Panthers from an emotional standpoint.
