Pitt Reveals New NCAA Tournament Banner

PITTSBURGH -- The Pitt Panthers made their 2023 NCAA Tournament run - the first in seven years for this program - a permanent part of the Petersen Events Center this weekend when they honored the players and coaches that got it there.
The Panthers unveiled an updated list of NCAA Tournament appearances stitched onto a banner that will hand in the Petersen Events Center next season and for the foreseeable future.
Head coach Jeff Capel addressed the group of players, assistant coaches and staff. Oakland Zoo leaders were also invited to join the team in celebrating the season that was.

The Panthers surpassed a number of milestones during a pivotal season. They achieved posted school records for three-point field goals, free throw percentage, and ACC wins, while finishing tied for 10th in the NCAA with an 11-game improvement from a season ago. Pitt won 20 games and made the NCAA Tournament frot eh first time since 2016 and won two games in the Bog Dance for the first time since 2009.
