The Panthers haven't been ranked since January 11, 2016. They have climbed the poll steadily over the course of this recent five-game win streak and earned a season-high in votes last week. They shattered that previous high by nearly 60 votes, earning another season-high of 82 this week.
Three ACC teams are ranked again this week. No. 7 Virginia leads the way, up a spot after surviving an upset bid from Duke over the weekend. Miami moved up four spots to No. 15 and NC State remained in the poll, but moved down to No. 22. The Panthers are the only other team in the conference that earned votes. Pitt is 4-0 this season against teams that earned votes in this week's poll.
