Pitt QB Nick Patti Ends Football Career

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- In the days preceding the Pitt Panthers' victory over No. 18 UCLA in the Sun Bowl, quarterback Nick Patti confirmed that he would not return to Pitt for another season in the blue and gold, but he left the door open to another season at another school.
But now, Patti has made his final decision official. He announced on his Instagram that the 2022 season would be his last as a football player and he will move on to join the workforce upon graduating from Pitt this spring.

While his real opportunities to play were few and far between, Patti's heroics from the Sun Bowl will certainly live on in Pitt football lore. He threw for 225 yards and a touchdown, ran for 72 more yards and led the last-second drive that set up Ben Sauls' game-winning 47-yard field goal.
Patti ends his career with a 55.5% completion percentage, 783 yards and five touchdowns to just one interception over 15 appearances.
The Panthers' quarterback room is well-stocked with two incoming transfers - Phil Jurkovec and Chistain Veilleux - and a freshman, Ty Deiffenbach.
