Pitt in Line for Top Seed in ACC Tournament

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- After beating Florida State, the Pitt Panthers sole possession of first place in the ACC for the first time this season. But it was only a temporary thing, with their roommates atop the conference, Clemson and Virginia, set to tip off shortly after Pitt's game concluded.
Clemson fell in blowout fashion at North Carolina but Virginia defeated Duke in overtime at home, leaving the Cavaliers and Panthers tied for first place and in control of their own destiny as they pursue a regular season ACC title. Pitt is now a full game up on Clemson and owns the tiebreaker over Virginia by virtue of a head-to-head win. The Tigers would own a hypothetical tiebreaker over Pitt because they beat the Panthers head-to-head in January.
If the season ended today, the Panthers would get a double-bye in the ACC Tournament and avoid the first two days of the ACC Tournament for the first time since 2013-14.
As the top seed in the conference, they would face the winner of the game played at noon the day before between the eight and nine seeds. Right now, Syracuse and North Carolina - who Pitt is 3-0 against this year - occupy those spots. The winner of that game would face the Panthers in the first game of the day on Thursday at noon on either ESPN or ESPN2.
