Nine Pitt Football Seniors Named Candidates for East-West Shrine Bowl
PITTSBURGH -- The experienced Pitt Panthers enter 2023 with much of their starting offense and defense populated by carry-overs from their 2021 ACC Champion team and the few holes that do exist have been filled by veterans from the transfer portal. As a result, the team's seniors have earned early recognition in professional scouting circles.
Nine players in their final seasons with the Panthers have been named to the East-West Shrine Bowl 1,000, a very early watchlist comprised of seniors from around the country that officials will be paying close attention to.
The nine Panthers on the extensive list are defensive end Deslin Alexandre, edge rusher Habakkuk Baldonado, inside linebacker SirVocea Dennis, safety Erick Hallett, offensive guard Gabe Houy, offensive tackle Carter Warren, quarterback Kedon Slovis, offensive guard Jake Kradel and outside linebacker Tylar Wiltz.
Should these Pitt seniors impress the scouts, they will play in the East-West Shrine Bowl, a pre-draft exhibition in which they can give one last game's worth of film against other draft-eligible players.
