Pitt's ACC Championship Odds Improve After Week 1

In this story:
PITTSBURGH -- Not many believed the Pitt Panthers had what it took to make it back to the ACC Championship game this season, much less win the conference at all but the tides have turned after a surprising week around the league.
ESPN college football analytics guru, Bill Connelly didn't have the Panthers among the top four teams most likely to win the ACC back in May, but following the first full week of college football, Clemson and Lousiville have fallen out and Pitt, with an 11% chance to win the conference according to SP+, has taken their spot.
SP+ P5 conference title odds (via @tfgridiron):
— Bill Connelly (@ESPN_BillC) September 5, 2023
ACC: FSU 29%, UNC 14%, Miami 12%, Pitt 11%
B12: OU 36%, Texas 20%, KSU 14%, UCF 8%
B1G: Mich 30%, Ohio St 23%, PSU 19%, Wisconsin 10%
P12: USC 27%, Oregon 23%, Wash 22%, Utah 12%
SEC: UGA 33%, Bama 27%, Tenn 13%, Ole Miss 7%
The Tigers fell from their perch atop the conference after dropping a 28-7 decision at Duke and Florida State, who drubbed then-top-10 LSU in Orlando the day before, takes their spot and their 29% chance to win the ACC. North Carolina's chances improved by 4% after completing a beatdown of South Carolina and Miami entered the top four alongside Pitt following a blowout of Miami (OH) at home.
The Panthers cruised to a victory over FCS Wofford behind 255 total yards and a pair of touchdowns from new starting quarterback Phil Jurkovec and a suffocating defensive performance that held the Terriers to 125 total yards.
Pitt's national championship odds also took a leap, according to Betonline.ag. The Panthers did not have odds to win it all prior to the start of Week 1, but now sit at 400/1, the eighth best odds among ACC teams.
