Former Pitt RB Declares for NFL Draft

Former Pitt Panthers tailback Vincent Davis will try his luck in the NFL Draft.

PITTSBURGH -- Former Pitt Panthers running back Vincent Davis will take the next step in his football career, he announced this week.

After spending four years as a Panther and one year as a UNLV Rebel, Davis has brought his college career to a close and will declare for the coming NFL Draft.

He was Pitt's third-leading rusher in 2022, prior to transferring to UNLV, behind Israel Abanikanda and Rodney Hammond, running 52 times for 247 yards and a touchdown. He added 12 receptions for 108 yards as well. Davis was the team's second-leading rusher in 2019 and 2021 and took on the bell-cow back role in 2020, when he ran for a career-high 632 yards and six touchdowns.

Davis will end his career as a Panther with 2,226 scrimmage yards and 17 total touchdowns to his name. He accounted for 860 yards from scrimmage on 156 touches (5.5 yards per touch) and scored eight total touchdowns during the 2023 season.

He was known as a tough, unselfish player who played through injury and accepted any role he was given.
