PITTSBURGH -- After losing leading scorer Blake Hinson to the transfer portal, the Pitt Panthers are looking for a wing to replace his production and may have found one.

The Panthers were one of many schools to reach out to former Hofstra forward, Darlinstone Dubar, a do-it-all star for the Pride for the past three seasons. Pitt will face stiff competiton to land his commitment from Kansas State, Arkansas, Virginia, Ole Miss, Arizona State, Xavier, Syracuse, St. John’s, Auburn, Notre Dame, Indiana, Tennessee, Kansas, BYU, Utah, Georgia Tech, Nebraska and UNLV, who are all also involved.

Darlinstone played his high school ball at Scotland Campus Prep, located about two and a half hours by car from Pittsburgh and the former thee-star recruit began his career at Iowa State before transfering to Hoftra after only seeing limited action in his first season.

He's flourished with the Pride, averaging double-figure scoring in each of his three seasons there. This season was his best to date, as Dubar averaged 17.8 points, and 6.8 rebounds per game while shootng 53% from the field overall and 40% from 3-point range. He scored 24 points on 7-11 shooting from 3-point range, grabbed 8 rebounds and blocked 2 shots in a game at Duke last season.

The Panthers lost Hinson to graduation and starting center Federiko Federiko and forward Will Jeffress to the transfer portal. They have three open scholarships remaining.
