Meet the coaches

Matt Painter, Purdue: Painter is in his 19th season at Purdue and has accumulated a 447-202 record during his time in West Lafayette. He's led the Boilermakers to five Big Ten regular season titles and two Big Ten Tournament championships. Purdue has appeared in the NCAA Tournament 15 times under Painter, but this year marks the program's first trip to the Final Four since 1980. Purdue has won back-to-back Big Ten regular season championships in 2022-23 and 2023-24. Painter is hoping to add a national championship to his resumé during this year's trip to the Final Four.

Dan Hurley, UConn: Hurley is in his sixth season at UConn and has already led the Huskies to a national championship and two Final Four appearances. UConn missed the NCAA Tournament in his first season, but the program has participated in March Madness each of the last four years. Last year, UConn won the national championship and is looking to repeat in 2024. In his six seasons at the helm, Hurley has accumulated a 140-58 record. Prior to his time at UConn, he was the coach at Wagner (2010-12) and Rhode Island (2012-18). He owns a career record of 291-163.
