FINAL: Gamecocks Throw Combined No-Hitter In Sweep-Clinching Win Over Miami (OH)

South Carolina's baseball team swept the Miami Redhawks on Sunday afternoon behind their combined pitching success and plate discipline.

The Gamecocks wasted no time putting runs on the board in game three, trying to go for the series sweep over Miami (OH). While South Carolina only had two hits in the first inning, they had excellent plate discipline, drawing six walks and putting up seven runs. Mark Kingston's squad would put five more runs in the fourth inning behind a Gavin Casas double and Cole Messina single, bringing in four of the five runs. Gamecocks would also add two more in the sixth behind a double from Carson Hornung.

Roman Kimball made his pitching debut for the Gamecocks, and as you can imagine, he was amped and struggled a bit with his command early but showed just how great his stuff was with five strikeouts on six faced batters. He also had help from the bullpen as the pitching staff threw a combined no-hitter in seven innings with nine strikeouts on the day.
