MBB Analyst Jeff Goodman Endorses Lamont Paris As Pick For National Coach Of The Year

Men's college basketball analyst Jeff Goodman believes South Carolina's men's basketball coach Lamont Paris deserves a strong look for a national award.

We're around two-thirds of the way through the college basketball season, which means pundits and analysts are discussing names for some of the top awards in specific conferences and also nationally speaking. Jeff Goodman, a college basketball analyst for the Field of 68 Media Network, has thrown his weight behind Gamecock coach Lamont Paris, advocating for him to receive National Coach of the Year honors.

Goodman, a respected figure in the basketball community, took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to voice his support this past weekend, declaring Paris his top pick for the award.

Under Lamont Paris's guidance, the No. 15-ranked Gamecocks are rewriting the record books and, in the process, are setting their sights on new milestones. This season, Paris has guided the Gamecocks to their first national ranking since the 2017 season and is just five wins away from entering the top 10 for most wins as a coach in South Carolina history, which is even more impressive when you consider the fact that he hasn't even finished his second season with the program.

As the season progresses, Lamont continues to garner recognition for his exceptional coaching acumen and his transformative impact on the Gamecocks. With endorsements from influential voices like Jeff Goodman, Paris's candidacy for National Coach of the Year gains further momentum, solidifying his position as a standout figure in collegiate basketball coaching.
