How To Watch SEC Tournament, Quarterfinals: 1-Seed South Carolina Vs. 9-Seed Texas A&M

South Carolina's women's basketball team begins tournament play tomorrow afternoon when they take on the Texas A&M Aggies.

With the South Carolina Gamecocks clinching their second straight undefeated regular season this past Sunday against the Tennessee Lady Volunteers, Dawn Staley, and her squad are about to begin the portion of the season where no one they go up against will care about what they've done to this point. That part of this team's journey begins tomorrow afternoon in the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament quarterfinals when they take on the Texas A&M Aggies, who won earlier today against the Mississippi State Bulldogs by a score of 72-56.

In their matchup earlier this season, the Gamecocks completely dominated the Aggies, shooting 67 percent from the floor, 54 percent from behind the three-point line, and 82 percent from the free-throw line on 17 attempts. This dynamite offensive performance was primarily due to Kamilla Cardoso getting almost anything she wanted early on in the contest, which also opened things up for Carolina on the weak side of the floor and around the perimeter.

Texas A&M will come into this game motivated, as according to ESPN bracketologist Charlie Creme, they are currently projected to be one of the last four teams in the NCAA Tournament. I imagine Cardoso will receive a lot more attention this time around and might not be left in many one-on-one situations; the Aggies might even try to pull a page out of Georgia's playbook and try to play some zone defense to create some indecisiveness for Raven Johnson and the rest of Carolina's backcourt.

However, I think the Gamecocks will be too much for A&M over the course of 40 minutes, and I expect them to play the winner of the other quarterfinal matchup between Tennessee and Alabama on their side of the bracket.
